Academic and Play - Based Learning
Town & Country utilizes the acclaimed McGraw Hill PreK curriculum and combines two early childhood and Kindergarten education philosophies (Academic and Play-based) to uniquely serve your child's learning, physical development and socialization needs.
Surrounded by Town & Country's state of the art playgrounds and beautiful natural setting, our program uses free play, structured activities, indoor and outdoor classrooms stocked with learning centers designed to stimulate your child's interests to provide the support and opportunities they need to develop math and science skills as well as explore music and the arts.
Reading
Our program is designed to provide your child with a strong foundation in phonics and reading readiness skills.
Utilizing story and circle time, and designated learning activities, children learn letter names, sounds and shapes.
Science
Our program is designed to help your child to discover our world.
In the preschool indoor and outdoor classrooms, we think about science in terms of exploring, discovering, and nurturing your preschool students’ curiosity about the world around them.
Mathematics
Our program is designed to provide a solid foundation for future math study. We embed mathematical learning using daily activities from designated math activities to circle and story time
to relate informal and formal math concepts.
Art
Exposure to Art is not simply a luxury, but, provides a critical component to developing a child's motor skills, language development, decision making, visual learning, inventiveness, and cultural awareness. Studies show that when taught in pre-school, a curriculum with fun filled art studies leads to a later improved academic performance.
Music
Exposure to Music from early childhood helps children to speak more clearly, develop a larger vocabulary, and strengthen social, and emotional skills and to develop logical and emotional intelligence.
Our program uses singing, dancing, musical instruments and even pots and pans to encourage the exploration of sounds, tones, melodies and words.
Physical Development
Town & Country's state of the art playgrounds are specifically designed to develop your child's gross (large) and fine (small) motor skills. Our play structures, swings, and grass fields are literally a child's paradise that encourage running, jumping, climbing and all kinds of games and sports.
Language
Development
In a safe and nurturing environment, teacher facilitate the development of advanced vocabulary, purposeful language, critical thinking, analysis and reasoning and connections between words and the real world.
Social/Emotional
Development
Teachers lovingly and with great comfort develop strong, positive relationships with children to help them develop confidence, trust, empathy, compassion and a sense of right and wrong. They teach young children how to form friendships, communicate emotions and deal with challenges.
Playtime
Playtime is critical: when kids are running, skipping and learning to ride tricycles, they aren't only exercising their bodies, they're also exercising their minds. Through children's games they learn to count, take turns, apply and make up rules, and figure out strategies; all of which develop cognitive skills.
